Review - Cocoa Brown Self Tan

I'm not a massive fake tan person, but I like to dabble now and then and had heard good things about the Cocoa Brown tan. I found it in my local Primark for £6 but It's also available from Feel Unique

The tan itself is a mousse formula (the best kind in my opinion) and comes out the can like hair mousse and expands unlike other mousse tans I've previously tried. So It's pretty easy to pump out too much, especially as a little goes a very long way with this.

^ Yeah, that's pure muscle ;)

Now the tan claims to give you beautifully bronzed, radiant skin in just 1 hour..

After 1 hour

It did live up to it's 1 hour claim .. But then I rinsed it off..

After I rinsed it off .. :/

I applied another layer after I rinsed the first lot off, feeling slightly disappointed. (apologies as the next before and after were taken in the evening

All in all it was a lovely tan; It didn't smell of that traditionally known fake tan smell, it applied nicely, and gave a lovely subtle colour.. although it did fade very patchy and unlike St. Moriz + Sunkissed, you can't really tell how much you have left. I've used it a few times now and have had the same patchy fading. It's brilliant if you need a quick fix tan for a few days, but I wouldn't use this prior to going on holiday..

Review: LUSH Shoot For The Stars Bath Ballistic.

I never really thought to do reviews of bath things like this.. but this really did need talking about, and not in a good light!

Yes, It made some lovely colours, but my bath nearly full it still looked like this..

After a little manipulation..

As I said in my last empties post, the only good thing was the purple water and the glitter..

All in all I'm really disappointed with this bath bomb, It barely fizzed when I first threw it in.. and after it having been in for more than long enough it still hadn't fully dissolved.. I still had little chunks floating up to me when I'd got in..  I don't know if I just got a duff one or what but I'm glad I only paid half price to change the colour of my bath water!

ClipHair, Hair Extension Review

A week and I think I'm finally getting back to reality! Coming to you today with a review of some hair extensions I recently bought from Cliphair..

As you may know, choosing the right colour of hair extensions online can be very difficult. Luckily Cliphair have a colour matching system in where you email them a photo of your hair and they tell you which colour they think will best suit your natural hair. So of course I did this and was told #613 Bleach Blonde.

I bought the set of 15 Inch Double Wefted Full Head Remy Clip in Human Hair Extensions - Bleach Blonde (#613) which includes :-
Two 8 inch (20cm) wide wefts - 3 clips per weft
Two 6 inch (15cm) wide wefts - 3 clips per weft
Two 4 inch (10cm) wide wefts - 2 clips per weft
Two 2 inch (5cm) wide wefts - 1 clip per weft

I don't have super thick hair, but I certainly have a lot of it.. So I went for the double wefted set, which if I'm honest isn't at all that thick. On the website it says 15 inch is 150g which is probably about right but isn't quite enough to blend nicely with my natural hair (Just a note to anyone looking into these extensions really, not a bad point of them). The extensions themselves are really nice quality remy hair which is always what I look for when getting any kind of extensions.

Each clip is fitted with the silicone band for added protection for your hair. But as you may be able to see from the above photo, they aren't sewn on all that nicely. They must of been sewn while the clips were open as when you snap them shut, there is a slight pull. And It's pretty messily done.

Before

After

They didn't match my natural hair when they arrived so I had to get my hair dresser to put some darker highlights through them so they blended better. I haven't taken a photo since she added the highlights but I'll add that in as and when. The set I got retailed for £54.99 with free P&P. (Although when you sign up with them they give you a 5% off code, which isn't a lot but it's a nice incentive).

I'm going to end it on a sad note, yes there was shedding.. as you can see in the above photo it wasn't just the odd strand that you would expect either. Little clumps like this have come out, and there's been around 3 so far which doesn't give me high hopes. But I shall keep my fingers crossed that that's the end of that!

I know this post was a little all over the place, and I apologize.. Hopefully I'll be in better form next time.
Hope this review helps any of you looking to buy clip in hair extensions.

Review; The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream

I'll start of by saying, this is by no means going to be a positive review and be warned there is going to be some bare faced icky photos!
I guess as this is a skincare review I best start of by saying what my 'skin type' is.. I have sensitive, combination/oily skin (Well at least I did - Explanation below).

I had made an order on the body shop site sometime last year, and I received a little 15ml tub of there Vitamin E cream as a little free gift. I have to admit, I kind of just shoved it away and forgot about it. But I went onto a mission to getting into a proper skin care routine and thought I'd give it a try, to my devastation!

So of an evening I decided to pop this cream all over my face in place of my normal moisturiser..

So yeah, I thought that bugger of a spot was the last of my worries.. but the longer I was awake I realised it really wasn't..

The right photo isn't very clear, hence all the arrows dotted everywhere but I was just sat downstairs watching tv and realised my face was a little warm and thought nothing of it till I looked in the mirror to see all these red blotches all over my face!! Now my skin was never the best to start with.. but It was never like this.
The cells soon repaired themselves, and my skin was somewhat clear again. But I didn't rule out the moisturiser straight away so thought I'd give it another go a week or so later. But alas, I woke up 10 times worse!! My face felt like it was burning, it was ridiculously dry (not just on the blotchy areas) and it just felt so irritated.
I had no idea what to do, I'm used to my face being an oil slick and I just had a normal Simple moisturiser, which I instantly slapped on but to no avail. I cried my way to Tesco where I bought a tube of E45, as I knew even if it didn't solve the issue it sure as hell wouldn't make it worse. Nearly a week after applying E45 heavily a few times a day (it was that dry and sore!) Still nothing, and me and the boyfriend had made plans to do to London that weekend and I didn't want to let him down. So again I slapped on the E45 and left the house so angry I couldn't put anything other than mascara on and with my skin super red and irritated.
I'm not going to lie, it litteraly took over a month to fix itself.. It's only now just started getting slightly oily so I can actually apply even a BB Cream let alone a foundation!

All in all I am not a happy bunny! I love the body shop, so will not let this ruin them for me.. I will simply throw this monstrosity away and steer clear in future!!

The Culprit ^
Rant over!..
